Azerbaijan to export black caviar to EU

September 4, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan may soon begin exporting black caviar to European Union countries, Zaur Salmanli, Chairman of the Association of Fish Producers and Processors of Azerbaijan, said.

According to ABC.AZ, which cites Report, Salmanli noted that shipments to the EU could start at the turn of 2025–2026: "Currently, negotiations are underway and connections are being established. I hope that from 2026 we will be able to fully benefit from the support provided by the Ministry of Agriculture. These support mechanisms include tax exemptions, technical assistance, and other measures."

Salmanli added that fish farms are currently being actively registered in Azerbaijan: "After registration, a management mechanism will be determined."

In 2024, fish catch volume increased by 1.2% compared to 2023, reaching 67,299 tons.
