August 22, Fineko/abc.az. European Commission spokesperson Eva Hrncirova stated during a press briefing in Brussels that Norway has officially overtaken the United States to become the main natural gas supplier to the European Union.

The EC representative added that member states are actively filling underground gas storage facilities ahead of the winter heating season. Although injection speeds are slightly slower compared to previous years, overall progress remains steady, with storage levels currently nearing 62% of total capacity.
