August 22, Fineko/abc.az. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) is expanding into Uzbekistan's retail sector by investing in the construction of a brand-new filling station network across the country.

Speaking at the 4th Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Interregional Forum in Tashkent, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov confirmed the expansion. He highlighted that SOCAR is already actively involved as an investor in the development of the "Ustyurt" field alongside Uzbekneftegaz and British energy giant BP.

Additionally, Jabbarov revealed that "AzerGold" CJSC will partner with local agencies in Uzbekistan to conduct geological exploration and mining operations across the country's regions.
