August 22, Fineko/abc.az. Uzbekistan and Georgia have launched an electronic permit ("E-permit") system to digitize international road freight transport operations.

Under the new digital framework, paper-based permits for bilateral, transit, and third-country transport have been phased out. Carriers will now receive authorization documents purely in electronic format via online applications.

According to the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan, the E-permit initiative aims to streamline processing times, reduce administrative paperwork and human error, and enhance transparency for regional cross-border logistics.
