June 16, Fineko/abc.az. The quantity of visitors to Azerbaijan observed decline as well as incomes.

ABC.AZ informs that in the same period of 2025, the tourism turnover was higher - $751.9 million.

The country generated surplus of $9.1 million as incoming tourists spend more money. But both the total turnover and the surplus decreased in 2026.

There was also a drop in tourist flows. In the 1st quarter of 2026, the number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad decreased by 3.5% to 452,600 people and the number of foreigners arriving in the country by 4.7% to 484,400 people. In the same period of 2025, the number of departures fell by 0.7% and arrivals by 1.1%.

In the first quarter of 2026, 25.9% of those who arrived in Azerbaijan were citizens of Russia, 21.7% - Turkey, 8.9% - Iran, 5.3% - Georgia, 4.1% - Kazakhstan, 3.6% - India, 3% each - Pakistan and Uzbekistan, 2.5% - Saudi Arabia, 2.1% - China, 1.9% - Israel and 1.6% - Ukraine. The proportion of men was 71.8%, women - 28.2%.
