August 17, Fineko/abc.az. Amazon has updated its Conditions of Use for U.S. customers, reinstating binding individual arbitration and prohibiting users from bringing class-action lawsuits. The policy change will make it significantly more difficult for customers to resolve grievances in court.
Under the revised terms, disputes must be settled through private arbitration rather than public judicial courts. Amazon had previously dropped its arbitration clause in 2021 after facing wave after wave of mass arbitration filings that triggered millions of dollars in fees. However, to mitigate exposure to costly class-action litigation, the company has chosen to restore the requirement.
