August 18, Fineko/abc.az. In January-July of this year, Azerbaijan exported 8.9 thousand tons of hazelnuts valued at 100.2 million USD.

According to the State Customs Committee, although the export volume decreased by 2.55 thousand tons (22.5%) compared to the same period last year, the overall value increased by 17.75 million USD (21.5%).

Hazelnuts accounted for 0.5% of Azerbaijan's total export revenues during the reporting period.

Foreign Trade Turnover and Surplus

Over the seven-month period, Azerbaijan's total foreign trade turnover rose by 1.3% year-on-year to reach 29 billion 216 million USD.

• Exports: $19 billion 336 million (up 27% year-on-year)

• Imports: $9 billion 881 million (down 27.4% year-on-year)

As a result, the foreign trade balance generated a positive surplus of 9 billion 455 million USD, which is 5.9 times higher compared to the same period last year.
