Flour reserves totaled 1.76 million tons last year

September 4, Fineko/abc.az. At the end of 2024, Azerbaijan’s flour reserves amounted to 1,764,476 tons.

ABC.AZ reports, citing the State Statistics Committee,that  this figure was 0.5% lower compared to 2023. Last year marked the lowest level of flour reserves in the country. Of the total, 16.3% came from beginning stocks, 77.4% from domestic production, and 6.2% from imports.

In 2024, Azerbaijan produced 1,365,906 tons of flour, an increase of 2.8% compared to 2023. Flour imports fell by 28.2% to 109,860 tons, while beginning stocks decreased by 1.1% to 288,710 tons.

From the total reserves, 3,068 tons were used as feed for livestock and poultry, 395,778 tons went to household consumption, 930,239 tons were directed to food production, 107,234 tons to non-food manufacturing, and 18,758 tons were exported. Reported losses during the year amounted to 21,187 tons.
