July 17, Fineko/abc.az. The U.S. plans to impose import duties of 10-15% on imports of goods from about 150 medium-sized countries.

ABC.AZ informs, quoting American President Donald Trump as saying this in an interview with TV channel Real America's Voice.

"We are going to announce a single figure (bid - approx. TASS) for the remaining almost 150 [small] countries. And it will probably be 10% or 15%. We haven't decided yet," he said.

On April 2, Trump announced the imposition of customs duties on products from 185 countries and territories. Universal tariffs of 10% came into force on April 5, individual tariffs - on April 9. On the same day, the U.S. president announced 90-day suspension of part of the retaliatory duties, which, as explained in the White House, related to trade consultations. A universal tariff of 10% is valid for this period. On June 27, Trump clarified that the U.S. would notify countries with which it would not sign separate agreements within about a week and a half about further terms of bilateral trade, that is, about the rates of duties on goods supplied to the American market. The US administration has started sending out these alerts in the last few days. Trump's decisions on the expiration of trade negotiations and the application of new import duties are expected to take effect on August 1. The president admitted that in some cases he would extend the terms of these negotiations.
