July 2, Fineko/abc.az. China has successfully launched a new satellite, "Haiyang-2E," into orbit. It will monitor the ocean and the marine environment.
According to reports, the launch took place on July 2 from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China. The Long March 4B (Changzheng-4B) rocket lifted off at 07:46 Beijing time (03:46 Baku time) and successfully placed the satellite into its designated orbit.
The launch was declared a complete success.
Satellite Orbit and Mission
"Haiyang-2E" entered a sun-synchronous orbit, which allows it to regularly observe the same areas of the Earth at the same local solar time (meaning under similar lighting conditions). This makes it much easier to compare data collected on different days.
Key Functions: "Haiyang-2E" is part of China's series of oceanographic satellites. They monitor the ocean surface, wind speeds, waves, and other essential parameters required for weather forecasting, navigation, and marine environmental monitoring.
