August 25, Fineko/abc.az. The agreements signed between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are of vital importance for launching strategic projects and expanding bilateral economic cooperation.
In an interview with the "Uzbekistan 24" TV channel, Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov described the document signed during President Ilham Aliyev's visit to Uzbekistan—aimed at increasing trade turnover to $1 billion—as a major step forward in advancing the partnership.
Noting the successful conclusion of the Uzbekistan–Azerbaijan Interregional Forum, the minister highlighted the importance of projects related to the operations of SOCAR and AzerGold in Uzbekistan. Furthermore, Mikayil Jabbarov stressed Uzbekistan's brotherly support in rebuilding Azerbaijan's liberated territories, specifically highlighting the construction of the Mirzo Ulugbek School initiated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Concluding his remarks, the minister noted that significant tasks lie ahead and affirmed that both sides will continue to actively collaborate to fulfill the mandates set by the heads of state.
