August 25, Fineko/abc.az. In January–July 2026, Azerbaijan transported 74 thousand tons of cargo worth $4.920 billion by air. According to the State Customs Committee, this represents an increase of 0.7% ($32.6 million) in value and an 8.2-fold growth (65 thousand tons) in physical volume compared to the same period in 2025.

Key Figures and Dynamics:

• Exports: Air cargo exports totaled 66.5 thousand tons valued at $3.833 billion during the reporting period, marking a 17.3-fold surge ($3.6 billion) in value and a 42.5-fold increase (64.9 thousand tons) in volume year-on-year.

• Imports: Air cargo imports stood at 7.5 thousand tons worth $1.087 billion, declining 4.3-fold ($3.6 billion) in value, while rising by 1.1% (84 tons) in physical volume compared to the same period last year.

• Total Freight Traffic: Over the first 7 months of 2026, overall freight transportation across all transport modes reached 31.811 million tons worth $29.217 billion, up 1.3% in value but down 7.5% in volume year-on-year.
