August 21, Fineko/abc.az. UK Ambassador to Azerbaijan Duncan Norman made key statements regarding bilateral strategic partnerships, the green energy transition, and regional peace prospects during a press conference.

The Ambassador stated that the UK views Azerbaijan as a natural regional center for transport, infrastructure, finance, and data centers. Highlighting the close friendly relations between the two nations, the diplomat emphasized their shared positions on numerous global issues and expressed confidence in further deepening this partnership.

According to Duncan Norman, energy has remained the bedrock of bilateral ties for over 30 years since BP entered the local market. Both countries are now closely collaborating on the energy transition to channel UK investments into clean energy and maximize Azerbaijan’s renewable energy potential.

Addressing regional stability, the Ambassador noted that Azerbaijan and Armenia are taking concrete steps toward sustainable peace based on ongoing dialogue. He welcomed practical initiatives such as border delimitation, energy supplies from Azerbaijan to Armenia, and the "Bridge of Peace" project, adding that reopening transport, energy, and communication links will bring greater prosperity and security to the entire region.
