August 6, Fineko/abc.az. Since its commissioning in June 2006 through the end of June 2026, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline has transported approximately 631 million tonnes (over 4.7 billion barrels) of crude oil, loaded onto 6,276 tankers at the Ceyhan terminal, according to an operational update from bp.

In the first half of 2026, approximately 13 million tonnes (around 97 million barrels) of crude oil and condensate were exported via BTC and loaded onto 131 tankers. Operational expenditures for BTC during the six-month period totaled around $75 million, with capital expenditures reaching $57 million.

Significantly, effective July 1, 2026, the operatorship of the BTC pipeline as well as the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP) system transferred from BP Exploration (Caspian Sea) Limited to SOCAR's subsidiary, "SOCAR Midstream Operations" LLC.

BTC Co. shareholders are: SOCAR (32.97%), bp (30.10%), MOL (8.90%), TPAO (6.53%), Eni (5%), TotalEnergies (5%), ITOCHU (3.40%), ONGC Videsh (3.10%), ExxonMobil (2.50%), and INPEX (2.50%).
