August 6, Fineko/abc.az. In the first half of 2026, an average of 11 million cu m of associated gas per day from oilfield block Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG), and a total of 2 bcm were transferred to the State, bp Azerbaijan informs.

The remaining part of the extracted associated gas was pumped back into the reservoir to maintain reservoir pressure.

A landmark event in the 1st half of the year was the start of production of free natural gas (LNG), thanks to which ACG moved to the stage of commercial gas production. The extracted gas and condensate are sent to the Sangachal terminal through the existing infrastructure. In addition, an oil fringe was discovered; drilling of the first well for an oil fringe began in May from the Deepwater Gunashli platform and will be completed in the second half of 2026.
