August 6, Fineko/abc.az. Processing of seismic data collected from the Karabakh field is currently underway, according to an operational update from bp.
To enhance field understanding and optimize development strategies, an Ocean Bottom Node (OBN) seismic survey was completed ahead of schedule in mid-March 2026, having commenced in December 2025. Additionally, a high-resolution (HR/UHR) seismic survey aimed at identifying subsurface hazards for platform installation was completed in May, with data processing currently ongoing.
Under the Ashrafi-Dan Ulduzu-Aypara (ADUA) project, a 2D HR seismic survey was executed in April at water depths of 20–40 meters. Covering the north-western section of ADUA, the survey targets data down to 1,500 meters to de-risk future exploration drilling. The final Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) document for the ADUA seismic program was officially approved by the government in March 2026.
