Azerbaijan increased purchases of crude oil from Kazakhstan

December 17, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan increased purchases of crude oil from Kazakhstan up to 105,420 tons in the first 10 months of 2025.

ABC.AZ reports that this means a rise of 205% versus Jan-Oct 2024.

The cost of imported crude oil grew by 154% year-on-year up to $58.02 million.

Last year, 34,590 tons for $22.83 million were purchased from Kazakhstan.

The volume of oil transportation from Kazakhstan via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline will reach around 1.5 million tons by the end of 2025.

Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov of Kazakhstan said that there would be no deviations from the approved plan, and by 2026 the plan covers volume of 1.5 million tons of oil. In the future, the agreements between KazMunayGas and SOCAR stipulate the supply of up to 2.2 million tons a year.
