Bank of France Upgrades Second-Quarter GDP Growth Forecast

14:00 - 11.07.2026

July 11, Fineko/abc.az. The Bank of France has raised its economic growth forecast for the second quarter, citing a stronger-than-expected recovery across core business sectors.

Driven by a sharp rebound in industrial activity, services, and construction throughout June, the central bank upgraded its Q2 GDP growth estimate to 0.2%, up from the previously projected 0%. This follows a 0.1% economic contraction recorded during the first quarter of the year.

Data from the central bank’s monthly business survey of 8,500 companies indicates that despite a record-breaking heatwave in late June, corporate output remained resilient as firms shifted shifts to cooler hours. Additionally, manufacturing order books held near historical averages, while the market uncertainty index retreated to levels documented prior to the onset of the war in Iran in late February.
