Russia bans diesel fuel export

10:38 - 9.07.2026

July 9, Fineko/abc.az. Russia has imposed a ban on the export of diesel fuel in order to increase supplies to the domestic market and eliminate shortages.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak stated that the demand for fuel in the country has increased by nearly 30%, and the situation on the domestic market remains tense.

To stabilize the situation, oil refineries are operating at maximum capacity, and scheduled repairs have been postponed.

It is noted that due to damage to a number of oil refineries caused by Ukrainian drone attacks, the government has been forced to impose export restrictions, and fuel sales are currently limited in approximately 40 regions of the country, including Moscow.
