July 29, Fineko/abc.az. American company Apple will close its company store in China for the first time.

ABC.AZ informs, referring to newspaper 21st Century Business Herald.

According to the report, the Dalian-based Apple Store will shut down on August 9.

The company did not give a reason for the closure. The store in Dalian opened in October 2015. This is the first official store in this city and the second in the northeastern Chinese province of Liaoning.

According to Apple's financial statements for the 2nd quarter of fiscal year 2025, revenue totaled $95.36 billion, up 5% from a year earlier. At the same time, revenue in mainland China amounted to $16 billion (2% less than a year earlier).

According to analytical company IDC, in the 2nd quarter of this year, Huawei supplied 12.5 million smartphones to the Chinese market, taking a market share of 18.1%, and became the sales leader. Chinese companies Vivo, OPPO and Xiaomi took the 2nd, 3rd and 4th places respectively. Apple took the 5th place, taking 13.9% of the market.

In the 4th quarter of 2024, Apple held the 1st place in smartphone sales in China, with a market share of 17.4%.
