November 26, Fineko/abc.az. The volume of e-commerce in the world for 2018 amounted to $3.53 trillion and is expected to reach $6.54 trillion in 2022.

ABC.AZ reports that the statement was made by Vusal Gasimli, the head of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms & Communications at the World E-Commerce Eurasia 2019 Baku Forum in Baku.
He points out that despite the fact that the growth rate of e-commerce in Azerbaijan is almost 2-fold a year, the share in the turnover of retail trade is 0.2%. While in the US and European countries this figure reaches 10-15%.
"The share of e-commerce in retail sales in Azerbaijan at the current level of the Internet can be about 7%, according to the global trend. Currently, the Center is monitoring and evaluating the "State Program on the expansion of digital payments in Azerbaijan for 2018-20". The Program considers e-commerce as part of the digital ecosystem. It is planned to expand the e-commerce infrastructure, define minimum security requirements for e-commerce platforms and improve the taxation mechanism for non-resident taxpayers," Gasimli said.
