August 25, Fineko/abc.az. Small hydropower plants (SHPPs) "Chirag-1", "Soyugbulag", and "Chirag-2" in the Kalbajar district have generated a total of 183.6 million kilowatt-hours of electricity from their commissioning date through July 2026.

According to the Ministry of Energy, "Chirag-1" SHPP produced 65.6 million kWh, "Soyugbulag" SHPP generated 61 million kWh, and "Chirag-2" SHPP contributed 57 million kWh during this period.

The 8.33 MW "Chirag-1" and 5.3 MW "Soyugbulag" SHPPs on the Tartar River, along with the 6 MW "Chirag-2" SHPP on the Garaarkhaj River, were commissioned on August 25, 2023. These facilities support green energy expansion while cutting greenhouse gas emissions and helping protect the environment.
