August 25, Fineko/abc.az. According to data from Belgium-based vessel tracking company Kpler, only two tankers transited the Strait of Hormuz on Monday, marking the lowest daily volume recorded since the conflict began.

Escalating tensions between Iran and the US since February 28 have placed immense pressure on maritime traffic in the area. With Iran restricting transit through the waterway, tanker movement across one of the world's most critical energy supply routes has slowed down significantly.

Kpler reported that as of 10:57 AM Baku time today, several crude oil and gas tankers entered the Strait of Hormuz from the Gulf of Oman. Meanwhile, figures from UK-based tracking firm Vortexa reveal that daily oil flow through the strait fell to 5 million barrels yesterday. In comparison, the seven-day moving average leading up to Sunday stood at approximately 6-7 million barrels per day.
