January 30, Fineko/abc.az. During his speech at yesterday’s conference on the State Program of Socio-Economic Development of the Regions President Ilham Aliyev said: "Azerbaijan's economy has been growing at a record pace and its GDP has grown 3.3-fold over the past 15 years".

"This is a record indicator on a global scale. Industrial production increased by 2.6 times. Our export has grown 4.7-fold and foreign exchange reserves by 24 times up to $45 bn. It shows that despite huge investments in the districts of Azerbaijan, as well as in the oil & gas sector and development of Baku, we managed to increase our foreign currency reserves by 24 times. That will allow us to look to the future with a great hope. Today, the Azerbaijani economy is a stable economy. For the last 15 years about $250 bn has been invested in Azerbaijan, and half of them are foreign. That is, Azerbaijan is a very attractive country for foreign investors," the country’s leader said.
