Iran Secures $7.5 Billion in Oil Revenues Despite U.S. Naval Blockade

09:44 - 20.08.2026

August 20, Fineko/abc.az. According to data from Iran's Oil Ministry reported by Middle East Eye, Iran generated $7.5 billion in foreign currency revenue from oil exports during the first four months of 2026.

The figure marks a 150% (1.5-fold) increase compared to the same period in 2025.

The surge in revenues came despite tight U.S. naval blockades and stringent international sanctions. Iranian officials expect these funds to cover the government's foreign currency requirements through the end of December.
