August 24, Fineko/abc.az. In January-July of this year, trade turnover between Azerbaijan and the United States reached $521 million 603 thousand.

According to the State Customs Committee, although total trade volume between the two countries declined by 31.4% year-on-year, Azerbaijan recorded a sharp increase in exports to the US market.

Key Indicators of Azerbaijan-US Trade Relations:

• Exports to the US: $64,351,510 (up 52.5%)

• Imports from the US: $457,252,330 (down 36.3%)

• Share in Total Trade: 1.7% (0.3% of total exports, 4.6% of total imports)

General Foreign Trade Dynamics:

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan’s total foreign trade turnover increased by 1.3% year-on-year to reach $29 billion 216 million.

Overall exports expanded by 27% year-on-year to $19 billion 336 million, while imports fell by 27.4% to $9 billion 881 million. Consequently, foreign trade generated a positive surplus of $9 billion 455 million, which is 5.9 times higher than the figure recorded in the same period last year.
