August 10, Fineko/abc.az. According to bp, the Shah Deniz consortium has awarded a major contract to Emerson for the supply of automation and control systems as part of the $2.9 billion Shah Deniz Compression (SDC) project.

The scope covers integrated control and safety systems to enable full remote operation of the normally unattended platform. bp confirmed that overall project progress has reached 30% completion, with approximately 2,700 workers currently engaged.

The SDC platform will compress export gas from both the Shah Deniz Alfa and Bravo platforms before routing it to the onshore Sangachal terminal. bp expects the project to recover an additional 50 billion cubic meters of gas and nearly 25 million barrels of condensate. Construction is targeted for completion in 2029.
