August 10, Fineko/abc.az. In an official statement referencing Gas Infrastructure Europe data, Gazprom evaluated the current status of underground gas storage facilities across Europe.
Highlighting the increasing difficulty of gas injection into European storage facilities, the statement noted that insufficient gas volumes in underground reserves pose critical risks to maintaining reliable natural gas supplies for European consumers during cold weather spells.
The company stated that as of August 6, gas inventory levels fell below the lowest historical marks recorded for the same date in previous years, reaching an all-time low. Gazprom’s natural gas exports to Europe have declined significantly over recent years due to sanctions and alterations in energy transport routes.
