August 11, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economy issued 1,191 licenses to entrepreneurs in January–July 2026, bringing the total number of licenses granted to date to 20,220.

During the 7-month period, 807 licenses were provided electronically. Since the launch of the "Licenses and Permits" portal in March 2018, the number of issued digital licenses has reached 7,963.

Breakdown by Sector:

• Construction & Assembly Work: 25% (298)

• Pharmaceuticals: 18% (214)

• Private Medical Practice: 12% (148)

• Communication Services: 11% (129)

• Other Sectors: 34% (402)

The Ministry currently issues licenses for 23 business activities. Applications are submitted via ASAN Service, KOB Houses, or the online portal, with processing completed within 10 business days. A 50% state fee discount applies to businesses in regional areas.
