July 9, Fineko/abc.az. The Australian government has released the first national report on the impact of artificial intelligence on the labour market, which found that knowledge workers are most at risk, while blue-collar workers are still less vulnerable,

the Guardian informs.

According to report Jobs & Skills Australia (JSA), the highest level of potential impact of AI was recorded for call centre workers, accountants, advertising and marketing specialists, office workers, administrators, retail managers and software developers. The authors of the study note that these professions are more often occupied by women and specialists with higher education.

The least prone to automation are called working specialties, as well as professions that require practical skills and specialized vocational education. These include electricians, builders, drivers of cargo transport and loaders, specialists in the care of the elderly, cleaners and gardeners.

At the same time, the report emphasizes that a large-scale reduction of jobs due to AI in Australia is not yet observed. Despite this, employment in professions with a high degree of potential automation is growing more slowly than in other sectors. For example, from the end of 2022 to the beginning of 2026, the number of workers in the least vulnerable sectors grew by 9.5%, while the number of workers in the most AI-affected sectors by 5.6%.
