June 11, Fineko/abc.az. The non-oil industry sector has rich raw material potential.
ABC.AZ reports that Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov stated this, referring to the issue of priority areas of the non-oil/gas sector.
According to Jabbarov, this is a consequence of activities of our oil & gas sector. We have a solid foundation for development of high-value-added industries such as production of polyethylene, polymers, polypropylene and a number of related products.
"It is impossible not to mention agriculture. This is not only a traditional activity for us – as we have already noted, there is relevant knowledge and skills here - but also an industry that occupies a very important place in non-oil exports. In addition, according to the relevant state program recently approved by our esteemed President, the state provides the necessary support in the form of regulation, capital investments and infrastructure, as well as private sector investments. We use the favorable climatic conditions of Azerbaijan, its geographical location, existing trade agreements, and this is presented to us as a priority area," the minister said.
