June 11, Fineko/abc.az. In the non-oil sector, the construction of the Dashkesan iron ore plant worth approx. 2 billion manats will be a key project for growth of export potential in the near and medium term.
ABC.AZ reports that Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov stated, referring to the matter of priority areas of the non-oil/gas sector.
Continuing the topic of the mining industry, we can also mention the project to develop Zod deposit in the territories liberated from occupation.
"An example of this is start of exploitation of stone quarries in Shahbulag, Dovletyarly limestone deposit and the facing stone deposits in Khojaly, the start of work at the Demirli ore processing complex in Aghdere, which was illegally exploited during the occupation, and the processes related to Zod deposit. Limestone deposits in Gubadli and Lachin are currently being exploited. In the coming years, we’ll see implementation of serious projects in the mining industry relating to production of minerals.
Along with this, a project aimed at doubling aluminum production compared to the current level can be cited as an example. We can say that a number of other projects are currently also in the active implementation phase," the minister said.
