May 1, Fineko/abc.az. In the first 3 months of this year, overall premiums on the main operations of insurance company Meqa Sığorta totaled 7.18 million manats (4.6% less versus Jan-Mar 2025).
ABC.AZ informs with reference to company's report, that a rise was observed on company’s compensation payments and the level of unprofitability was recorded.
The loss ratio grew from 90.36% to 91.99%.
The impact of trends in the compulsory car insurance market is particularly noticeable. For AVISMIS, which holds the main share in the business portfolio (31%), the loss ratio increased from 95.61% to 108%. At the same time, premiums on compulsory motor insurance declined by 1.12 million manats to 2.63 million manats. At the same time, payments for this type amounted to 2.7 million manats. As can be seen from the figures, the company suffered losses in this segment. In the context of such loss-making, Meqa Sığorta also does not occupy a strong position in the compulsory car insurance market in terms of customer satisfaction - in the latest March rating of the Central Bank, it is in the "red" zone.
The analysis of investment activity shows a decrease of income in this direction. In the 1st quarter of 2026, investment revenues reached 500,000 manats, which is 15.5% less than 592,000 manats in the same period of 2025. At the same time, the total volume of the company's investment portfolio fell to 38.75 million manats (a drop of 12.6% in annual terms).
