July 31, Fineko/abc.az. Global sugar prices have lowered to a 4-year low due to high sugar supply in the coming season. At the same time, production in the EU has significantly reduced because of a drop in crop areas.

ABC.AZ informs that at the London Mercantile Exchange, white sugar is traded at €405 per ton, around €65 cheaper than in March and €35 less than a year ago.

Within the EU, white sugar is sold at €540 per ton, which is 34%, or €287, less than €827 per ton exactly a year ago.
