Growth of global wheat harvest to put pressure on prices

15:51 - 2.07.2025

July 2, Fineko/abc.az. A high global wheat harvest is expected in 2025-2026, which will limit price increases, ABC.AZ informs with reference to Alberta Farmer Express.

Economist Dennis Voznesensky (Commonwealth Bank of Australia) notes that global stocks will rise to 271 million tons from 264 million tons a year earlier.

Production in the EU may exceed 138 million tons compared with 122 million last year due to favorable weather conditions. The European Commission forecasts a 9% increase in yields compared to last year and 6% above the five-year average.

Wheat imports in China, which decreased to 20.68 million tons in 2024-2025, may increase again next season, analysts say.
