New state standard adopted in silk industry

July 28, Fineko/abc.az. The Azerbaijan Institute of Standardization (AZSTAND), which is under the jurisdiction of the State Agency for Antimonopoly Control & Consumer Market Supervision, has approved a new state standard in the silk industry - AZS 998:2026 "Industrial Grena. Technical Conditions".

According to AZSTAND, the new standard aims to establish uniform technical requirements in the silkworm production process, ensure the production of high-quality and healthy industrial silkworm grena, maintain the stability of biological product indicators, and increase the reliability of products provided to consumers.

The standard is also important for the objective assessment of grena quality indicators, increasing productivity, preserving genetic resources, and improving the efficiency of breeding work.

The draft state standard was adopted based on the submission of the Technical Committee for Standardization "Animal Husbandry, Poultry Farming, Beekeeping, Fish Farming, Sericulture, and Feed Production" (AZSTAND/TK 24), which was established on the basis of the Research Institute of Animal Husbandry and Fish Farming of the Ministry of Agriculture, and was included in the State Fund of Regulatory Documents for Standardization.
