June 13, Fineko/abc.az. EU-Azerbaijan Business Forum has been held in Baku.

During the business forum Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev pointed out that $15.3 bn of investments were made in country's economy last year, and $8.2 bn of them are foreign investments.

The minister stressed that in general, during the years of independence the volume of investments amounted to $263 bn, and more than 50% of them are foreign investments. Country's strategic foreign exchange reserves increased by 7.3%.

"As of 1 January 2019 Azerbaijan’s external public debt reached $8.9 bn with GDP of 19%. Last year the surplus of the balance of payments due to current operations amounted to $6.1 billion and the ratio to GDP - 12.9%," the minister emphasized.
