EU involved in Armenia's transport infrastructure from borders of Azerbaijan to Turkey

A trilateral memorandum has been signed in Brussels between the European Commission, the European Investment Bank (EIB), and the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of Armenia. The document provides for the preparation of strategic road routes from the border with Azerbaijan to the border with Turkey.

ABC.AZ informs that speech is about the design and modernization of two key routes: Akhurik-Kayan (212 km) and Margara-Kayan (258 km). These routes are intended to connect the border crossing points with country's overall road network and enhance region's transport connectivity. In the first phase, the EIB will provide expert and advisory support for the necessary feasibility studies and practical surveys. These projects are part of Armenian concept "Crossroads of the World", aimed at strengthening region's transit potential.
