August 20, Fineko/abc.az. Under the "State Program for Tourism Development 2026–2030" approved by President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan aims to significantly boost air connectivity.

By the end of 2030, the country plans to launch flights to at least 4 new target tourism destinations and increase the frequency of existing flight routes by 20%.

The program also targets achieving competitive airfare pricing across at least 10 key tourism markets compared to regional rival destinations. To expand international passenger traffic at regional airports, special incentive and compensation frameworks—covering airport fees, ground handling services, and occupancy levels—will be introduced to attract international airlines and low-cost carriers.
