June 8, Fineko/abc.az. Pashinyan's victory could accelerate the peace process with Azerbaijan.
ABC.AZ informs that this is stated in the assessment of rating agency S&P Global Ratings.
S&P positively assessed the results of the parliamentary elections in Armenia in terms of country's creditworthiness.
Agency's report says that the victory of the Civil Contract party, led by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in the June 7 elections ensures the continuity of the political course and can strengthen the government's ability to advance peace negotiations with Azerbaijan.
According to S&P, the election results give the government a new mandate, reduce short-term political uncertainty, and support the country's credit profile.
At the same time, the agency stressed that Armenia's attempts to expand ties with Western countries will continue to face difficulties due to its continued economic and energy dependence on Russia.
According to preliminary data published by the Central Election Commission of Armenia, the Civil Contract party retained a majority in parliament.
