April 23, Fineko/abc.az. British mining company Anglo Asian Mining PLC (AAM), specializing in development of gold-bearing deposits in Azerbaijan, has invested $1.8 million in the upgrade of a flotation plant at Gedabek field.
ABC.AZ informs, referring to the company, that the upgrade of the plant is on schedule and should be completed by the end of April.
The nine newly installed Imhoflot pneumatic flotation cells at Anglo Asian Mining's Gedabek flotation plant in Azerbaijan are designed to significantly improve gold and copper recovery rates from higher-grade ore.
The upgrade will help specifically accommodate high-grade copper-gold ore from the new Gilar underground deposit and increase the versatility of the Gadabek flotation plant.
According to the company, the work was carried out at comparatively low cost - approx. $1.8 million - and in the long term should contribute to improving margins and profitability.
In addition, as part of the upgrade of processing facilities at the Gedabek and Demirli fields, the production capabilities of the Gedabek processing complex were expanded. In particular, an Energy Efficient Pulp Lifter system has been installed to increase mill productivity, an industrial shredder, and a new licensed maintenance program has been introduced.
Additional work is also planned at the Gadabek tailings dams, including the installation of a dam monitoring system based on fiber-optic sensors.
A SAG mill and a ball mill have been put into operation at the Demirli field. In addition, tests of the technology of bioccasin leaching of ore are continuing, according to the results of which the level of copper extraction reaches 78%.
