August 19, Fineko/abc.az. In the first half of 2026, taking into account carry-over stocks from the beginning of the year, Azerbaijan's total commercial natural gas resources reached 22 billion 258.9 million cubic meters.

According to the State Statistics Committee, the breakdown of gas resource utilization was as follows:

• Exported: 60.1%

• Consumed domestically: 29.2%

• Remaining inventory (as of July 1): 8.2%

• Losses: 2.5%

Domestic Consumption Breakdown Of the gas consumed domestically, 56.8% was utilized for production needs, while 43.2% was delivered to households. In terms of residential consumption across economic regions, Baku (36.6%) and Absheron-Khizi (11.8%) accounted for the largest shares. The remainder was distributed across Ganja-Dashkasan (6.2%), Gazakh-Tovuz (5.9%), Lankaran-Astara (5.8%), Central Aran (5.6%), Sheki-Zaqatala (5.5%), Quba-Khachmaz (5.1%), Karabakh (4.7%), Mil-Mughan and Shirvan-Salyan (3.6% each), Nakhchivan (3.1%), Mountainous Shirvan (2.4%), and Eastern Zangezur (0.1%).
