Austria to finance 500 million euros to reduce cost of electricity

27 noyabr, Fineko/abc.az. The Austrian government intends to allocate approx. 500 million euros to reduce the cost of electricity for the population.

ABC.AZ informs that the Federal Chancellor of the Republic Christian Stocker stated about this to journalists, specifying that the funds would be received not from the budget, but from state shares in companies.

"We’ve already allocated 130 million euros to mitigate the increase in network tariffs. Thanks to the law on "cheap electricity", this amount will be increased by another 450 million euros. The goal is to ensure that the growth of network tariffs next year is below the inflation rate and averages only about 1%. Let me remind you: in 2025, network tariffs increased by 23%. The difference is obvious," Stocker said.
