Retail turnover in capital grew by 4.7 %

June 30, Fineko/abc.az. The retail trade for Jan-May 2025 increased by 4.7% compared with Jan-May 2024 up to 13.76 billion manats.

ABC.AZ reports, referring to the Baku City Statistics Department, that the cost of food, beverages and tobacco products sold in the retail chain increased by 5.7% versus Jan-May 2024 up to 7.508 billion manats and non-food products - by 3.8% up to 6.253 billion manats.

Compared with Jan-May 2024, retail trade turnover in real terms increased by 7.5% for enterprises and by 3% for individual entrepreneurs, markets and fairs.
39.6% of consumer goods were sold at enterprises with the status of a legal entity, 51.6% — in retail facilities owned by individual entrepreneurs, and 8.8% - in the commodity markets of the capital.
