September 17, Fineko/abc.az.  For the past 8 months of the year Azerbaijan produced 2,802.2 kg of gold (28.8% less than for the 2017 same term).

The State Statistics Committee reports that as of 1 September stocks of finished products reached 25.3 kg.

Production of silver for this period increased 5.3-fold up to 1,133.6 kg.

In 2017 the country produced 6,391 tons of gold (3.4-fold more than in 2016).

Gold in Azerbaijan is mined in Dashkesan (AzerGold CJSC) and Gedabek (Anglo-Asian Mining, Britain).

Anglo-Asian Mining carries out gold extraction within the framework of the PSA agreement, signed on 21 August 1997. Azerbaijan’s share in the agreement is 51% and the share of British company Anglo Asian Mining Plc. - 49%. The first gold extraction from Gedabek field was carried out in 2009.
