February 26, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan’s black tea imports in 2024 totaled 14,388 tons for $76.49 million.
ABC.AZ reports that compared with 2023, imports of black tea increased by 5.05% in quantitative terms and by 8.41% in monetary terms.
In 2023, the country imported 13,696 tons of black tea for $70.56 million.
Last year, Azerbaijan imported 9,264 tons of black tea for $52.88 million from Sri Lanka. Compared with 2023, in 2024, imports from Sri Lanka declined by 4.23%, but increased in value by 6.18%. In 2023, imports from Sri Lanka reached 9,673 tons of black tea for $49.8 million.
Last year, imports of Azerbaijani black tea from India grew by 34% against 2023 up to 1,859 tons.
In 2024, a ton of black tea rose in price by 3.19% versus 2023, amounting to $5,316.16. In 2023, a ton of black tea cost $5,151.74.
At that, the price of 500 grams of black tea in the local market increased by only 1.21% up to 12.49 manats by the end of 2024, while at the beginning of 2024 it was 12.34 manats.
