August 25, Fineko/abc.az. Apple has unveiled a more powerful Mac mini and refreshed Mac Studio desktops aimed at consumers looking to run autonomous AI agents locally. The launch marks what is likely the final major product unveiling of Tim Cook's tenure as CEO before he hands over leadership to hardware veteran John Ternus.

The new Mac mini is powered by Apple's new 2-nanometer M6 chip or the M5 Pro processor. The company stated that the M6 chip delivers up to four times faster AI performance and double the graphics and storage speeds compared with the previous M4-powered model. Amid rising costs driven by strong demand for memory chips from AI data centers, Apple adjusted pricing: the new Mac mini starts at $899, representing a $100 increase over its predecessor.

The professional-grade Mac Studio desktop lineup has been refreshed with M5 Max (starting at $2,499) and new M5 Ultra chips (starting at $5,499). Designed for developers and advanced users, these machines can run large AI models directly on-device and combine the computing power of multiple systems for more intensive AI tasks.
