October 30, Fineko/abc.az. Any large regional project implemented on the territory of Georgia will strengthen the security and stability of this country. The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Supsa pipelines run through the territory of Georgia, but these projects do not belong to Georgia. These projects are of regional importance and contribute to the security of all corridor countries.

These words were sounded by Georgian Minister of Economy & Sustainable Development Natia Turnava on broadcast "Free View" of TV channel 1TV.ge (Channel One), answering the question about the significance of the project of deep-water port Anaklia, built on the territory of the country.

According to Turnava, both pipelines are the main factors contributing to Georgia's energy security. The Anaklia project is of strategic importance for Georgia, as are the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Supsa oil pipelines.

Turnava noted that at the recent international forum on the Silk Road in Tbilisi, representatives of many countries expressed interest in the speedy construction of a deep-sea port in Georgia.

"The project meets not only our interests, but also the interests of other countries," Turnava emphasized.
