Economy Minister: Azerbaijan has invested $15 bn in EU

June 13, Fineko/abc.az. Baku is hosting EU-Azerbaijan Business Forum today.

Addressing to the forum, Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev stated that so far the EU has invested $33 bn in Azerbaijan's economy, while Azerbaijan has invested $15 bn in the EU countries.

The minister pointed out that currently 1,600 companies from the EU are operating in the country. Last year, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and the EU increased by 30%. Azerbaijan is one of the main economic and trade partners of the EU.

"Azerbaijan is EU’s key trade partner in the South Caucasus. 78% of the trade turnover from the EU countries with the region accounts for Azerbaijan. At the same time, 42% of Azerbaijan's trade turnover accounts for the EU countries," Mustafayev emphasized.
