Hyundai to Roll Out Over 100 Models Globally

August 26, Fineko/abc.az. Hyundai Motor CEO José Muñoz announced that the South Korean automotive giant will launch more than 100 new and refreshed models to compete with Toyota in the US market and counter low-cost Chinese rivals in global markets.

Under the strategic roadmap unveiled at Investor Day in Seoul, the automaker will enter 18 new segments, including mid-size pickups and light commercial vehicles. Adapting to the global slowdown in pure electric vehicle demand, Hyundai is diversifying its powertrain lineup by rebalancing its focus across electric, hybrid, and extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs).

Out of the new models, 58 will be allocated to the US, 41 to Europe, 26 to India, and 22 to China. Aiming to expand its US hybrid lineup to over 10 models by 2030, Hyundai also plans to raise its North American localized parts rate from 60% to 80% and increase global production capacity by 1.3 million units. Simultaneously investing in robotics, the company is scaling up its Boston Dynamics Atlas humanoid robot facility to support an annual output capacity of 30,000 units by 2028.
